Marine fuels testing company VPS on Wednesday (3 January) announced it has been shortlisted for the prestigious Annual Environmental Award 2024, which is part of the Offshore Support Journey 2024 Awards.
The award recognises a company, project or product that has made a significant contribution to a reduction in the environmental footprint of the offshore service vessel (OSV) industry.
“The nomination comes in recognition of our Maress Summer Campaign, a collaborative effort that involved eight companies, 133 vessels, and resulted in a remarkable reduction of 10,000 tonnes of CO2. This joint nomination celebrates the dedication of the vessel crews and the collaborative action taken by all participating companies,” VPS said in a social media post.
“Our Maress Summer Campaign is an example of what can happen when we all come together and use data to make a real impact on cutting emissions in the OSV industry. It’s proof that when industry leaders team up, incredible things can be achieved for a shared goal.”
The awards ceremony will be held at the Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference, Awards & Exhibition 2024 in London on 7 to 8 February. The deadline for voting is 10 January, 2024.
Manifold Times previously reported VPS receiving the prestigious Marine Fuel Testing and Inspection Excellence Award at the inaugural Marine Fuels 360 Awards gala dinner held on 29 November at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
In September, VPS also published the results of a summer campaign with eight offshore vessel owners to see how much CO2 could be saved during the period.
