HD Hyundai Global Services changes name to HD Hyundai Marine Solution

HD Hyundai Global Service Co., Ltd, the bunker trading arm of South Korean shipbuilding group HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, has changed its name to HD Hyundai Marine Solution, effective Thursday (23 November).
The firm said the name change was to reflect the company’s focus on providing all solutions needed in the marine industry and commitment in leading an eco-friendly technology and digital transformation for a sustainable future in the marine industry.
The name change was decided during a board of directors and extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on 23 November.
“HD Hyundai Marine Solutions started in 2016 as the industry’s first company to specialise in after-sales service business across the entire lifecycle of ships including maintenance, repair and remodelling,” the firm said in a statement.
“Since then, we have expanded our business into areas of engineering-based eco-friendly modifications, bunkering and digital solutions.”
In his remarks at the meeting, Lee Ki-dong, CEO of HD Hyundai Marine Solutions, said: “Starting with this change in the company’s name, HD Hyundai Marine Solutions will serve as a central force for the sustainable marine industry based on the technology and know-how accumulated over 50 years of HD Hyundai.”
