The Vietnam Coast Guard on Monday (29 March) said the patrol team of the Marine Police Zone Command 3 detained vessel BV-96668-TS for transporting 40,000 litres of undocumented diesel oil.

The patrol team was out on its inspection rounds on Sunday, 28 March at 5.30 pm when they discovered the vessel behaving suspiciously 60 nautical miles southeast from Con Dao.

Initial investigations revealed the vessel had four crew members onboard, and the Master was unable to present the necessary invoices proving the legality of the diesel oil.

Marine Police Zone Command has detained the vessel and escorted it to the port of Con Dao in order for the case to be dealt with in accordance with Vietnamese law.
