Following the completion of a three-week drydocking at ASL Shipyard, NW Corporation Pte Ltd (NWC), a Singapore-based commodities and oil cargo trading firm, welcomed bunker tanker Fortune Glory back to its fleet in June.

“The drydocking operation was carried out as part of Fortune Glory’s 3rd-year intermediate class survey requirement,” said Jason Tan, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of NWC, in an interview with Manifold Times.

According to Mr Tan, the scope of work included:

  • An underwater survey involving ultrasonic thickness gauging and propeller/rudder clearance readings
  • Hull maintenance such as side shell washdown and renewal of plating where needed
  • Application of anti-fouling paint for long-term hull protection
  • Full repainting of the vessel in NWC’s signature fleet colours
  • Servicing of sea and overboard valves to meet class compliance
  • Maintenance of the main engine, auxiliary engines, and bow thruster
  • Repairs to the superstructure on deck and within cargo tanks

The Malaysia-flagged 5,000-metric tonne (mt) capacity Fortune Glory delivers RMG 380 cSt LSFO 0.5% and HSFO 380 cSt 3.5% to NWC’s clients at Port Klang, Malaysia. It supports bunkering activities alongside Abbie, a 4,000 mt capacity tanker operating in the same market.

“Fortune Glory plays a key role in increasing our bunkering volume throughput at Port Klang,” noted Mr Tan.

“Prior to its scheduled drydocking, we were already delivering a minimum of 20,000 mt monthly with just two barges. With Fortune Glory back in service, we are well-positioned to scale up operations.”

Looking ahead, Mr Tan shared NWC’s intentions to expand its fleet further.

“Over the past 20 months, we’ve built a reputation as a reliable supplier in Port Klang,” he said.

“With continued support from trading houses and direct ship owners, we are now exploring the addition of a third and fourth barge – targeting Q4 2025 and Q2 2026 respectively.”
