The total bunker sales volume at Rotterdam port in the third quarter (Q3) of 2018 decreased 7.9% on year, according to the Port of Rotterdam Authority.
The Q3 2018 volume of 2.30 million m3, a new historical low, was below 2.50 million m3 recorded in Q3 2017.
The latest bunker sales volume (compared to the similar period in the previous year) saw fuel oil at 1.94 million m3 (2.11 million m3); marine gas oil at 317,604 m3 (325,324 m3); marine diesel oil at 22,069 m3 (44,645 m3); and lubes at 23,024 m3 (24,026 m3).
Sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel in Q3 2018 was 3,165 metric tonnes (mt), a 144% increase from 1,297 mt in Q2 2018.
