Marine fuel supplier Peninsula on Friday (8 May) said it has launched a new physical bunker supply operation in Mauritania.
This comes following the award of a licence from the Mauritanian National Hydrocarbons Commission.
“The operation has been approved for up to three bunker barges in total, providing flexibility to scale capacity as activity increases,” the company said in a social media post.
Peninsula is currently operating through two barges capable of delivering Fuel Oil and 0.1% Gasoil in line with ISO 8217:2022 specifications.
“Further to the recent tender process, Peninsula is the first company to secure a licence to operate physically in the market,” the company added.
Manifold Times previously reported Minerva Bunkering launching a new bunkering service in Mauritania after being awarded a license by the National Hydrocarbons Commission.
Minerva sources multiple grades of marine fuels across a range of required viscosities from its hub in Las Palmas, enabling the company to leverage its existing infrastructure to ensure supply chain reliability.
Bunkering tankers from Minerva’s fleet serving the Mauritania operation include MT Symi, MT Tethys and MT Karpathos.
