Panama bunker fuel sales volume drops by 12.7% on year in February 2024

Bunker fuel sales at Panama fell by about 12.7% in February 2024, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

Total bunker sales at Panama was 352,541 metric tonnes (mt) in February 2024, compared to sales of 403,703 mt during the similar period in 2023. 

In February 2024, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 272,618 mt; 156,053 mt of VLSFO, 86,515 mt of RMG 380, 8,639 of marine gas oil (MGO), and 21,411 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

The similar region saw total marine sales of 339,869 mt a year before on February; with VLSFO sales at 234,646 mt, RMG 380 sales at 70,497 mt, MGO sales at 8,674 mt, and 26,052 mt of LSMGO being sold.

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 79,923 during February 2024; the figure comprised 63,554 mt of VLSFO, 7,636 mt of RMG 380, 3,131 mt of MGO, and 5,602 mt of LSMGO.

It saw total sales of 63,834 mt in February a year before; with VLSFO sales of 48,042 mt, RMG 380 sales of 5,586, 3,432 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 6,774 mt.
