The Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) on Sunday (5 February) said ts Kemaman Maritime Zone division has detained a tanker carrying diesel without any proper documents.
MMEA said the ship was detained during routine patrol on 4 February, around 3.35 am. The vessel was manned by four crew members aged between 20 to 36 years of age around Terengganu waters.
An initial investigation found that the ship was carrying an estimated 10,000 litres of diesel and failed to present documents for the vessel’s licence and permit for possession, storage and transport of controlled items.
The ship was arrested and taken to Kemaman Maritime Zone Pier for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Merchant Shipping Ordinance (MSO) 1952 and Control of Supplies Act 1961.
