Malaysia: Banle Group meets Guangzhou officials to discuss alternative bunker fuels

Marine fuel logistics firm Banle Group recently announced a visit from representatives from Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau and Management Committee of Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone to its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on 27 May.
The adoption of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan in 2021 outlined the 2035 vision for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). One of the key focus areas is maritime and port development.
“During the meeting, Banle Group representatives shared in-depth industry updates with the Guangzhou officials, highlighting the latest trends and advancements in alternative fuels,” Banle Group said in a social media post.
This included discussions on the growing adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol and biofuels as more sustainable alternatives to traditional fuel oil.
“Given the GBA’s strategic position as a leading maritime and logistics hub, the group also explored the potential developments in GBA, to support the region’s ship towards cleaner energy sources,” it added.
“We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to share the Group’s perspectives and contribute to the growth of the bunkering industry in Greater Bay Area.”
