State-owned oil and gas giant Pertamina’s subsidiary, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, on Sunday (30 July) said it supplied bunker to LNG carrier Hyundai Utopia on 12 June.
“The ship-to-ship transfer was completed at Bitung Anchorage in North Sulawesi, Indonesia,” Syaiful AB Alchazin, Overseas Bunker Sales Account Manager, said in a social media post.
The 1,865 metric tonnes (mt) of fuel supplied to the LNG carrier was VLSMGO 0.005% Sulfur, which complies with ISO 8217 specifications.
According to ENGINE, Pertamina planned to reduce its VLSFO offer price for ocean-going vessels by about 30%.
With the new programme, the company’s VLSFO sales to ocean-going vessels will be exempted from value-added tax (VAT). This means the 11% VAT, which was previously applicable, will be waived off.
