IBIA: International Maritime Organization confirms acceptance for electronic BDNs (update)

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) on Friday (22 September) issued an update on an earlier industry note on IMO formally confirming the acceptance of bunker delivery (BDNs):
IMO has formally confirmed that bunker delivery notes (BDNs) are acceptable in either hard copy or digital form providing they meet the relevant requirements of MARPOL Annex VI with additional protection and verification requirements for electronic BDNs.
MEPC 80 held in July approved Unified Interpretations to regulations 18.5 and 18.6 of MARPOL Annex VI as set out HERE, that have been enclosed and disseminated in IMO circular MEPC.1/Circ.795/Rev.8.
