Ecoslops to produce bunker fuel from oil waste at the Port of Tema with Marine Bunkers

09 Feb 2021

French cleantech company Ecoslops on Monday (8 February) said it has signed a fourth letter of intent with Marine Bunkers Ltd at Tema, Ghana.

The transaction includes the sale and setting up of a Ecoslop’s Mini P2R unit that can convert oil waste to bunker fuel at the Port of Tema.

The deal includes comprehensive services such as local integration, the training of operators and multi-year technical support.

It also entails a local installation set up by MBL to collect (on-shore and off-shore) and treat oily
waste in Ghana and in the Gulf of Guinea region.

The Mini P2R will allow to locally revalue this waste, as well as used lube oil, into new oil products.

“By allowing a second life to these wastes – which are harmful to health and the environment -it

will help to effectively combat pollution associated with the illegal dumping of these residues in

rivers and oceans, as well as toxic air emissions from their incineration in the absence of treatment,” said Ecoslops.
