Global bunker supplier Dan-Bunkering on Wednesday (12 November) announced the relocation of James Shiller, Global Lead of New Fuels, to the company’s Copenhagen office from the Cape Town office in South Africa.
The company said the move is to strengthen the presence of new fuels in Europe.
“James’ relocation to Denmark is both a sensible and strategic decision for Dan-Bunkering, supporting our goal of assisting customers through the maritime energy transition,” the company said in a statement.
“As regulatory frameworks such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and FuelEU Maritime drive decarbonisation across the sector, James’ presence in Denmark ensures closer collaboration with clients and colleagues.”
Since joining Dan-Bunkering’s Cape Town office in 2019, the company said Shiller has become known in the industry for his expertise in decarbonisation compliance and has played a key role in upskilling more than 90 Dan-Bunkering fuel suppliers worldwide.
He will continue to educate the company’s team on the latest developments in low-carbon fuels across all our Dan-Bunkering offices.
Michel Dominique Thomsen, Commercial Director, Dan-Bunkering Europe, said: “The maritime sector is undergoing an important transformation, and our customers are looking for clarity and confidence as they adapt to alternative fuels and regulations. Having James in Copenhagen brings our global expertise closer to the European market.”
James Shiller, said: “´We are constantly striving to reduce the compliance burden for our maritime customers. I am looking forward to being closer to customers and supporting them with industry-leading advice and best practices.”
