Norwegian shipowner Knutsen on Tuesday (14 March) said the first LNG bunker vessel built in Spain, Haugesund Knutsen, successfully completed its first LNG bunkering operation.
The ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation took place on 13 March where the bunker vessel delivered LNG bunker fuel to Italian cruise line Costa Cruises’s cruise ship Costa Smeralda to sail for one week.
Manifold Times previously reported Enagás subsidiary, Scale Gas, and the Norwegian shipowner Knutsen presented the first LNG bunker vessel built in Spain at the Barcelona Regasification Plant.
The Haugesund Knutsen, chartered by Shell Spain and built by Astilleros Armón Gijón, is based in the Port of Barcelona.
The vessel is a 5,000 cbm ship specially designed for supplying LNG to gas carriers and gas fuelled vessels such as cruise ships and ferries in the port basin of Barcelona.
