A maritime accident between two bulk carriers occurred within Singapore port waters on Thursday (4 July) evening.
Both bulkers, Malta-flagged 56,753dwt Klima (IMO 9594561) and Marshall Islands-flagged 75,200 dwt Spring Snow (IMO 9473274), collided while being engaged in bunkering operations.
Singapore-flagged bunker tankers, 2,800 dwt Libra (IMO 9568744) was alongside Klima while the 7,496 dwt Spring (IMO 9368027) was in a bunkering operation with Spring Snow.
The Libra is owned by Singapore bunker craft operator New Maritime Pte Ltd, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.
The Spring is owned by Singapore bunker craft operator and bunker supplier Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services (EMF).
An EMF spokesman on Friday night confirmed to Manifold Times the bunkering vessel Spring suffered “no damage”.
