The Port of Rotterdam has recently appointed Astrid Sonneveld as its new Program Manager for Bunkering.
Sonneveld joined the port this month after moving on from Neste where she worked since December 2021. Her career started in GoodFuels in October 2015, working as a Business Manager before being promoted to Head of International and Marine Business Development in 2016.

“The time has come to shift my focus back to marine fuels and to get to work for the city where I was born and raised,” she said in a social media post.
“As Program Manager Bunkering at the Port of Rotterdam, I will be responsible for developing, promoting, and delivering a consistent, future-proof bunkering proposition that strengthens the competitiveness, sustainability, and reliability of the port’s bunkering market.”
“I could not have asked for a more interesting time to step into this role — now that bunker volumes in Rotterdam are affected by the implementation of RED III, the first FuelEU Maritime compliance year is behind us, and recent ammonia and ethanol bunkering pilots have demonstrated the port’s leadership as a frontrunner in sustainable marine fuels. “
“I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the future of one of the world’s largest bunkering ports and look forward to working with colleagues and partners across the industry to help navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
