The second “Zhoushan Ship Type” version 2.0 bunkering vessel was successfully delivered and set sail for its maiden voyage at the Zhoushan Hetai Shipyard on 25 December, according to Zhoushan Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) on Sunday (28 December).
The vessel was ordered by Zhejiang Free Trade Zone Orient Shipmate Maritime Service Co Ltd (OSMS), a joint venture of Zhoushan Communications Investment Group and Sinopec Fuel Oil Sales Co Ltd.
As the second 4,300-tonne “Zhoushan Ship Type” 2.0 version, the launch of Dong Fang Zhao Yang 2 marked a step forward in improving the quality of bonded bunkering services and contributing to the development of the Zhoushan marine fuel oil bunkering market.

The Zhoushan MSA said it will continue to promote the upgrading of “Zhoushan Ship Type” bunkering vessels.
In addition to the newly-built Dong Fang Zhao Yang 2, 16 “Zhoushan Ship Type” bunkering vessels have been newly built and put into operation in the Zhoushan Free Trade Zone for bonded bunkering operations.
Meanwhile, two bonded lubricating oil supply vessels that were over 20 years old have recently been decommissioned.
“By actively promoting the upgrading of supply vessels, the safety and operational efficiency of bonded bunkering are improved, helping to create a benchmark model in the global bonded bunkering field,” Zhoushan MSA added.
Manifold Times previously reported the launching of Dong Fang Zhao Yang 2 at the shipyard which was constructed by Zhoushan Hetai Shipbuilding & Repair Co Ltd beginning in December 2024.
