PetroChina Fuel Oil successfully obtains first Tianjin bonded bunkering licence

PetroChina (Tianjin) Fuel Oil Co., Ltd. on Wednesday (20 November) said it successfully obtained the first licence to conduct bonded bunkering of fuel oil to international ships in Tianjin.

With the new licence, PetroChina has achieved full coverage of major coastal ports in its bonded bunker fuel terminal network.

Since streamlining its marine fuel business in December 2021, PetroChina (Tianjin) Fuel Oil has anchored its positioning as an integrated energy supplier for ships and accelerated the bunkering of low-carbon fuels such as bio-marine fuel, green methanol, and green ammonia.

The company has been approved for six bunkering licenses and has formed a coverage of major ports in the Yangtze River Delta, the Greater Bay Area, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

This year, the bunkering volume of the company’s self-operated terminals is expected to exceed 4 million metric tonnes (mt), a 20-fold increase from 2020.
