Monjasa moves into new Singapore office at 1 Raffles Place building

International bunkering firm Monjasa on Thursday (31 August) said its staff has moved to a new office on the 33rd floor in 1 Raffles Place building in Singapore. 

“We are now 20 colleagues working together on the 33rd floor in the historic 1 Raffles Place building. From this downtown location, we are privileged to oversee the beautiful and busy Singapore Strait, where you find around 1,000 ships anchored at any time,” it said in a social media post.

“We are managing our new fleet operations in Singapore from the trading floor.”

Monjasa added it has more than 30 colleagues across Asia in response to the increasing demand it is experiencing.

“In fact, last year Monjasa Asia supplied an all-time high 1 million tonnes of marine fuels to the shipping industry across the region from our offices in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai.”

In another post, the firm said it also celebrated Morten Jacobsen’s promotion from General Manager to Managing Director Asia.

“Morten started out as a one-man band in Singapore in 2010 with Monjasa supplying less than 100,000 tonnes yearly. Since then, Morten has naturally transitioned himself and our now three Asian offices into being more mature, more maritime and more Monjasa – and always by being authentic and leaving people around him with a smile and a laugh,” it said. 

In July, Manifold Times reported Monjasa was expecting to operate with a total of three bunker tankers in Singapore during 2023. 

The firm said Monjasa has already deployed one tanker in full service and it is expected to be joined by additionally two tankers later this year.
