Cosco (Weihai) Shipbuilding Marine Technology Co. Ltd, recently signed an agreement with COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. for an order of methanol fuel supply systems for four 16,000TEU container ships.

The project is the first large-scale methanol fuel project in the country where main and auxiliary machines are supplied at the same time.

The Blue Ocean Shield Methanol-LFSS methanol fuel supply system uses dual-core redundancy + PID closed-loop control to ensure the stability and reliability of the equipment. Duplex filter design is adopted to ensure the compatibility of the fuel supply system to the engine.

The new methanol supply system has successfully obtained certification from classification societies such as DNV, China Classification Society, and American Bureau of Shipping.

Cosco (Weihai) Shipbuilding Marine Technology has also independently developed and built test bases for the methanol fuel supply system, LNG fuel supply systems and ammonia fuel supply systems in order to simulate the actual working conditions of the systems in ships and verify new fuel supply systems.
