Vietnam: Coast Guards remand two fishing boats for conducting illegal oil transaction

The Vietnam Coast Guard on Thursday (11 June) said its Region 4 Task Force Command Unit has detained two fishing boats KG 90436 TS and KG 94522 TS for conducting illegal oil transactions in the Southwestern region of Kien Giang.

At 3.00 pm on Tuesday (9 June) the team discovered the vessels sailing suspiciously close to each other while they were conducting their patrol rounds.

Initial investigations revealed that KG 90436 TS was carrying 20,000 litres of illegal diesel oil while KG 94522 TS had 5,000 litres of undocumented diesel oil which the Captain claimed he had purchased at sea. 

Both vessels have been brought to Rach Gia harbour at Kien Giang for further investigations and will be dealt with in accordance with Vietnamese law.

The final meeting for Tiger LNG Shipping Pte Ltd has been scheduled to take place on 29 June, according to the company’s liquidators on a notice posted on Friday (29 May) on the Government Gazette.

The meetings will be held at 10.30am at 190 Middle Road #17-05 Fortune Centre Singapore 188979. 

The meeting is being held for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator.
