Zvezga shipyard has started construction of three MR class liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuelled product tankers for the Sovcomflot Group of Companies, according to Rosneft.

The 50,000 dwt tankers are intended for the transportation of oil products and gas condensate and will be operated under long-term time-charter agreements between the Sovcomflot Group of Companies with PJSC NOVATEK.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery from 2022 to 2023.

“In addition, the possibility of expanding the line of MR class vessels by another 3 units is currently being studied. The new customer will be Rosnefteflot,” it states.
