Madrid-based bunkering firm Vilma Oil has started bunkering operations of Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) at the Port of Ceuta on Thursday (7 November), according to the port authority.
34,500 metric tonnes (mt) of VLSFO product was first unloaded by oil/chemical tanker Ridgebury Colette B at the Poniente dike on 1 November for storage in a 35-hour operation.
Another tanker Sti Fulham unloaded 25,000 mt of diesel oil from the Levante dike to another storage warehouse during the same day.
The ship agent in both unloading operations was the agency Wave Shipping del Estrecho, Ltd.
“After the first unloading operation carried out on 1st November, the first supply of low sulphur fuel oil took place in the port of Ceuta, specifically in the Levante dike where the Turkish ship Kurtulus was supplied with 90 tons of the aforementioned fuel,” said the Port of Ceuta.
“The ship Kurtulus, from Turkey, was the first to receive this new fuel oil at the port facilities.
“This vessel of 3,450 GT and 92.25 m in length was also supplied 25 tons of diesel from the same supplier and Jose Salama & Co. Ltd. was the ship agent.”
