New York-listed global energy management company World Kinect Corporation (WKC) on Thursday (23 October) recorded a 7% on year decrease in gross profit for the third quarter (Q3) of 2025.
The company posted gross profit of USD 249.6 million in Q3 2025, lower than gross profit of USD 268.1 million seen during Q3 2024.
Revenue for its combined aviation, land and marine segments in Q3 2025 was USD 9.39 billion, a 17.6% decrease from revenue of USD 10.49 billion in Q3 2024.
Specifically, the marine segment generated gross profit of USD 25.5 million in Q3 2025, a drop of 32% on year from USD 37.2 million in Q3 2024.
This was principally due to lower bunker fuel prices and further reduced market volatility, as well as a lower profit contribution from certain physical locations.
In total, WKC sold 4.1 million metric tonnes (mt) of bunker fuel during Q3 2025, up by 3% from 4.0 million mt of marine fuels during the similar period of last year.
According to a slide deck of the latest results by WKC on its website, volumes increased 3% year-over-year, due to a recovery in the dry bulk markets.
While the company is anticipating some sequential improvements to its marine segment in its outlook for Q4 2025, WKC is expecting marine gross profit to decline year-over-year due to market volatility and prices expected to remain low through the fourth quarter.
