Singapore-based bunker surveying firm Lighthouse Marine & Inspection Services Pte Ltd (Lighthouse Marine) on 1 August says its bunker surveying licence has been renewed, after having its renewal period deferred for a month by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to MPA for granting Lighthouse Marine & Inspection Services, a homegrown bunker surveying company, the opportunity to be heard and to present our position,” Mr Imran, Managing Director of Lighthouse Marine, told Manifold Times.
“We deeply appreciate the professionalism and fairness demonstrated by MPA throughout the process. It was conducted in a transparent and objective manner, allowing us to clarify the circumstances and provide the necessary context surrounding the situation.
“We would like to express our gratitude to our clients for their continued support during this period. Their confidence in our capabilities is greatly appreciated, and we remain committed to delivering reliable service with professionalism and consistent excellence.”
According to Mr Imran, while the recent situation stemmed from an operational lapse rather than an intentional wrongdoing, Lighthouse has taken the opportunity to review and strengthen its internal systems.
“Several enhancements have since been implemented to improve procedural robustness and ensure full alignment with regulatory expectations,” he noted.
He also shared that although it has been a challenging period, it also served as a moment of introspection and reform for the company.
“Despite attempts by certain external parties to take advantage of the circumstances and circulate misleading narratives, we have chosen to stay focused on our principles and the work that matters. We are proud and grateful to have a team that has stood firm in upholding our standards of integrity and service excellence,” said Mr Imran.
“This experience has provided a valuable opportunity for learning and growth. It has encouraged us to review our internal processes and renew our commitment to transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
“We see this as a pivotal moment for us to emerge stronger and more aligned with our mission. We remain confident in the professionalism, unity, and resilience of our team, and we are confident that Lighthouse Marine continues to serve as a trusted and principled partner to our clients and regulatory authorities.”

Lighthouse Marine was established in Singapore since more than a decade ago and has been expanding worldwide in recent years. Looking ahead, Mr Imran shared his broader vision for the future.
“From our base in Singapore, we have steadily grown and now support clients across several key international ports. Our survey coverage spans all major ports across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, North America, Central and South America, and Australia, ensuring seamless support for our clients wherever their vessels call,” he shared.
“This global presence, combined with our in-depth local knowledge, allows us to provide reliable and standardised inspection services tailored to the operational requirements of each region.”
The company added that its growing global reach reflects client trust and its continued investment in service quality, digital tools, and internal systems to improve traceability, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
