International marine consultancy, surveying and inspection service provider Viking Marine Services (VMS) has started a new bunker and quality claims department at its Singapore branch.
“The new department started on 12 November 2018 covering all claims worldwide,” Naresh, the General Manager – Claims & Technical at VMS, who is also heading the department, told Manifold Times.
“It is a department which will concentrate on bunker claims, technical matters and training to assist our existing clientele and also new ones.”
Naresh, whose last employment was the Group Technical Manager at Cockett, has over 18 years of experience including working at various global bunkering hubs.
He has worked his way from a Deck Cadet to a Bunker Surveyor for DNVPS leading to become Technical Manager for the entire Cockett Group.
“Naresh has knowledge with respect not managerial skills but also of marine fuel claims in both quantity and quality, including personnel training, and is very well respected in the industry by both suppliers, traders and owners alike,” supports Captain Vikram Mohan, Managing Director at VMS.
“Having worked in Malaysia, Singapore and the Middle East, Naresh brings with him a wealth of experience which is highly valuable for positioning VMS as a global entity.”
