The Vietnam Coast Guard on Monday (14 December) said the patrol team of the Marine Police Zone Command Region 4 has detained two vessels KG 95395 TS and KG 95395 TS for conducting an unauthorised transfer of illegal diesel oil.

The patrol team was out on its inspection rounds on Sunday (13 December) at 10.00 pm when they discovered both vessels conducting the illegal transfer about 35 nautical miles from the southwest coast of Tho Chu Island.

Vessel KG 95395 TS was transporting 30,000 litres of undocumented diesel oil and had transferred about 4,000 litres to KG 95395 TS.

Initial investigations revealed that the Master onboard KG 95395 TS was unable to present the necessary invoices proving the legality of the diesel oil carried onboard.

Currently, Marine Police Zone Command Region 4 have detained both vessels and diesel onboard for further investigations and to be dealt with in accordance with Vietnamese law.
