Vietnam Coast Guard detains tanker carrying 110,000 litres of illegal oil

Crew members onboard TG 90678TS could not produce invoices and documents proving the legal origin of the oil on board.

The Vietnam Coast Guard on Friday (18 February) seized a tanker, TG 90678TS, carrying 110,000 litres of diesel oil for further investigation at the Vung Tau port, it said.

According to the authority, the tanker was spotted about 140 nautical miles southwest of Con Dao Islands and was observing suspicious activities and was stopped for an inspection at 1430 hrs on 15 February. 

The Vietnam Coast Guard said the five crew members on board could not produce invoices and documents proving the legal origin of the oil on board, and failed to produce identification documents during the time of inspection.

The final meeting for Tiger LNG Shipping Pte Ltd has been scheduled to take place on 29 June, according to the company’s liquidators on a notice posted on Friday (29 May) on the Government Gazette.

The meetings will be held at 10.30am at 190 Middle Road #17-05 Fortune Centre Singapore 188979. 

The meeting is being held for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator.
