Lloyd’s Register Fuel Oil Bunkering Analysis and Advisory Service (FOBAS) recently released a bulletin informing the delay of bunker fuel samples to its Shanghai Laboratory due to upcoming holidays:
National Day of the People’s Republic of China is a public holiday in China celebrated annually on 1st October. Although 1st October is recorded as The National Day, another six days are added to the official holiday, normally in lieu of the two weekend breaks around 1 October, making it a public holiday comprising seven consecutive days also known as Golden Week.
During this holiday period between 1st October and 9th October, it is possible that collection and/or transit of bunker samples to the laboratory will be delayed.
If you are planning to land a sample in China from today and until 9th October for onward delivery and testing in the Shanghai laboratory, to avoid transit delays, we recommend that you land your samples at the vessels next port of call outside of China.
The FOBAS logistics team are available to assist with any specific cases that this may cause and can be contacted directly at [email protected].
