Global bunker fuel supply and procurement company TFG Marine, a joint venture between Trafigura and shipping firms Frontline and Golden Ocean, on Wednesday (21 April) said it supplied Trafigura bareboat-chartered MT Marlin Amethyst with B50 bio marine gasoil at the Port of Amsterdam.
This is the second time that the Marlin Amethyst has taken delivery of TFG Marine-supplied biofuel, following successful sea trials last November.
“The vessel will make significant greenhouse gas emissions savings on its voyage using this ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification-certified, sustainably-sourced biofuel, compared to using a more conventional, higher carbon marine fuel oil,” said the company on its social media platform.
“The use of biofuels supports both Trafigura’s target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its commercial operations and TFG Marine’s ambition to become the leading supplier of sustainable marine fuels for the shipping industry.”
