Panama bunker fuel sales up by 5.8% on year in July 2024

Bunker fuel sales at Panama increased by about 5.8% in July 2024, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

Total bunker sales at Panama was 436,507 metric tonnes (mt) in July 2024, compared to sales of 412,478 mt during the similar period in 2023.

In July 2024, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 365,673 mt; 207,536 mt of VLSFO, 122,194 mt of RMG 380, 7,789 of marine gas oil (MGO), and 28,154 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

The similar region saw total marine sales of 341,585 mt a year before on July; with VLSFO sales at 241,525 mt, RMG 380 sales at 67,055 mt, MGO sales at 5,333 mt, and 27,672 mt of LSMGO being sold.

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 70,834 during July 2024; the figure comprised 50,194 mt of VLSFO, 8,922 mt of RMG 380, 3,081 mt of MGO, and 8,637 mt of LSMGO.

It saw total sales of 70,893 mt in July a year before; with VLSFO sales of 51,649 mt, RMG 380 sales of 7,062, 4,826 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 7,356 mt.
