Singapore Maritime Foundation on Friday (10 February) said for the first time, student leaders from the maritime clubs of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) came together to organise the Maritime Youth Forum.
Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport Mr. Chee Hong Tat graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour, delivered a speech and joined a student-moderated panel discussion.
The Maritime Youth Forum 2023, designed to deepen the engagement of Singapore’s youth with the industry, featured presentations by:
“The youth today who join maritime will spend a large portion of their career contributing to the drive towards IMO 2050 and other global sustainability goals. This is an exciting time to be part of the industry, and the Singapore Maritime Foundation is committed to connecting Singapore’s young talent with a sector that is transforming,” said Mr. Hor Weng Yew, Chairman, Singapore Maritime Foundation.
A networking reception with human resources professionals from leading maritime companies capped the Maritime Youth Forum 2023, which was attended by more than 150 students from Singapore’s tertiary institutions.
