Malaysia: “Alpine Mathilde” arrested at Port of Tanjung Pelepas over naphtha cargo

Hong Kong-flagged Alpine Mathilde (IMO No. 9380506) was arrested at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia on Monday (31 July).  

Manifold Times understands that the arrest is in relation to a claim for 36,259.858 metric tonne (mt) of naphtha cargo, which is in excess of US$20 million.  

The 49,999 dwt chemical tanker was transporting the cargo from Singapore to Japan under Bill of Lading No. E11109 when the arrest order was issued by the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur.
