Swedish bunker supplier Gasum on Wednesday (18 November) said it has extended its bunkering area from the Nordics to include the areas of Antwerp, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, also known as the ARA region.
The company added it has signed a new agreement with their long-term partner Equinor for the supply of liquified natural gas (LNG) in the ARA region. The direction is for Gasum to deliver LNG bunker fuel to Equinor.
Gasum and Equinor have been co-operating on various projects and LNG supply chain development for Equinor’s vessels since 2011, it said.
Lately, Gasum has been bunkering Equinor’s oil tankers that are shipping crude oil from North Sea to Swedish and Baltic ports.
“We are very proud that Equinor chose Gasum as their partner in the ARA region. Equinor is one of the forerunners using LNG in their operations, and they were our first LNG customer in the maritime segment. This new agreement marks yet another milestone in our co-operation and in Gasum’s growth,” said Jacob Granqvist Gasum LNG Maritime Sales Director.
The bunkering for Equinor will mainly be performed by Gasum’s bunker vessels Coralius and Kairos.
Gasum noted co-operation with Equinor in the ARA region will extend its existing business area with the ability to expand its customer base in the region.
