Rotterdam-based international marine fuel testing and advisory firm VPS on Tuesday (22 June) said Fremman Capital has entered into exclusive discussions with its existing investor, IK Investment Partners, to acquire its stake in the company.
Over the past few years VPS has strengthened its leadership position as a true innovator in sustainability.
This has been achieved by launching additional, valuable services, such as Oil Condition Monitoring, and through three strategic acquisitions to further diversify its services and strengthen its decarbonisation advisory offering.
“We have enjoyed a truly successful partnership with IK, and look forward to the next years with Fremman,” said Malcolm Cooper, CEO, VPS.
“In the last year we have developed a new sales strategy, invested in additional laboratory equipment and made multiple acquisitions. Fremman have come on board to help continue this strategy, all of which will help us to better serve our clients and create a greater positive ecological impact.”
Andy Chetwood, Director at Fremman Capital, was happy to support VPS.
“VPS has an active role in ensuring that the biggest names in global shipping are safe and environmentally sustainable, with plenty more offerings to add in the coming years,” he said.
“Malcolm has done a fantastic job developing VPS into the business it is today, and we are excited to support his vision for the future.”
