Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg bunker supplier Trefoil Trading BV on Wednesday (21 July) launched a new service to provide customers the option to offset their CO2 emissions on a voluntary basis.
Based on the well-to-wake (WTW) emission amounts accounted for by The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICTT) on marine fuels (HSFO/VLSFO/MGO),
Trefoil Trading BV will be able to offer CO2 emissions offsetting options as from 10% up to 100% for those willing to fully compensate the carbon footprint in conjunction with Corporate Social Responsibilities.
The CO2 offsetting certificates will be verified via Gold Standard VERs (Verified Emission Reductions).Trefoil Trading BV has selected the Gold Standard Program being one of the leading and most rigorous voluntary emission-reduction programs, it states.
