Business management platform Bunker Suite on Monday (12 October) launched integrated AI tools for bunker traders, brokers and physical suppliers, extending its capabilities after the successful use of AI to process incoming bunker enquiries.
The tools are built into its digital platform, with rollout under way across its customer base.
Alongside enquiry handling, the AI tools read bunker delivery notes (BDNs) and purchase invoices and prepare the details for review. They also check trade confirmations against the agreed order and terms, flagging discrepancies and protecting margins. Teams retain control of AI-prepared records through approval workflows.
Automatic data capture also helps desks retain a record of every enquiry, won or lost, along with more operational details, so they have a full history to draw on for commercial decisions.
Traders and managers can ask questions in plain language about customer activity, enquiry feedback and margins. Factors such as competition, traders, ports, and grades can be easily compared and analysed. Answers can be displayed as tables and charts or saved as exportable reports.
The tools also write in-depth counterparty briefings, drawing on public research, connected data providers and the client’s internal trade data. These reports, with sources included, support commercial conversations and new business decisions.
“Bunker trading runs on knowing your customers, following up on enquiries and getting the details right,” said Mounir Bendouch, Managing Director of Bunker Suite.
“The aim is to turn messages and paperwork into structured information to act on, with less manual handling. Teams gain a clearer view of their contracts, what needs attention and where the margins are.”
Bunker Suite also plans to build further layers of intelligence that actively generate strategic insights and recommendations from customers’ own trading and operational data. The aim is to help teams anticipate issues and spot opportunities across their wider business.
