Belgium-based bunker supplier Northstar acquires French counterpart AZURenergies

Being part of Northstar, AZURenergies can now invest more in infrastructure and accelerate the delivery of next-generation marine fuels, including biofuels and renewable energy solutions.
Belgium-based physical bunker supplier Northstar will become the 100% shareholder of AZURenergies, a marine bunker supplier in all French ports and Monaco, according to a joint statement by both companies on Wednesday (27 May). This partnership marks a significant step in AZURenergies' growth journey. Now, as part of a larger group with broader operational resources, financial strength, and international experience, AZURenergies is positioned to scale its capabilities while maintaining the agility and personal touch that its customers value. "This move is about strengthening what AZURenergies does best-serving the marine industry in France with high quality fuels and reliable logistics-while opening new doors to innovation, sustainability, and expansion," said a spokesperson for AZURenergies. “Being part of Northstar, we can now invest more in our infrastructure, broaden our product portfolio, and accelerate the delivery of next-generation fuels, including biofuels and renewable energy solutions.” Customers of AZURenergies will benefit from greater supply security, enhanced service reliability, and access to a wider network of marine energy expertise. “The French bunker market is poised for transformation, with increasing demand for greener energy and more transparent supply chains. AZURenergies is now better equipped than ever to meet these challenges head-on and contribute to a more sustainable future for shipping in France and beyond,” the companies said.
