Panama bunker fuel sales climbs by 6.7% on year in February 2026

Bunker fuel sales at Panama increased by 6.7% in February 2026, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

Total bunker sales at Panama was 444,042 metric tonnes (mt) in February 2026, compared to sales of 416,061 mt during the similar period in 2025.

In February 2026, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 369,406 mt; 218,147 mt of VLSFO, 112,416 mt of RMG 380, 4,969 mt for marine gas oil (MGO), and 33,874 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

The similar region saw total marine sales of 338,251 mt a year before in February; with VLSFO sales at 217,165 mt, RMG 380 sales at 90,815 mt, MGO sales at 2,818 mt, and 27,453 mt of LSMGO being sold.

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 74,636 during February 2026; the figure comprised 60,051 mt of VLSFO, 1,691 mt of RMG 380, 5,315 mt of MGO, and 7,579 mt of LSMGO.

It saw total sales of 77,810 mt in February a year before; with VLSFO sales of 47,835 mt, RMG 380 sales of 17,138 mt, 4,744 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 8,093 mt.
