Panama bunker fuel sales down by 8.3% on year in August 2025

Bunker fuel sales at Panama dropped by 8.3% in August 2025, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

Total bunker sales at Panama was 419,056 metric tonnes (mt) in August 2025, compared to sales of 457,126 mt during the similar period in 2024.

In August 2025, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 351,419 mt; 227,644 mt of VLSFO, 84,932 mt of RMG 380, 356 of marine gas oil (MGO), and 38,487 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

The similar region saw total marine sales of 374,507 mt a year before in August ; with VLSFO sales at 202,734 mt, RMG 380 sales at 140,481 mt, MGO sales at 4,529 mt, and 26,763 mt of LSMGO being sold.

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 67,637 during August 2025; the figure comprised 53,514 mt of VLSFO, 3,305 mt of RMG 380, 3,168 mt of MGO, and 7,650 mt of LSMGO.

It saw total sales of 82,619 mt in August a year before; with VLSFO sales of 61,544 mt, RMG 380 sales of 9,591 mt, 3,483 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 8,001 mt.
