Brazil’s bunker producer Acelen and Bunker One have supplied more than 60 vessels at the Port of Salvador in just three months since launching their partnership in April this year.
Cristiano P. da Costa, Executive Vice President – Sales, Trading and Shipping of Acelen, said this when sharing the progress of the partnership in a social media post on Friday (1 August).
“In just three months of operation, we have supplied more than 60 vessels, including large cargo ships and oil tankers, strengthening Bahia’s strategic position in Brazil’s logistics landscape and supporting our projection of 45% growth by December,” he said.
“A particularly noteworthy point: around 25% of these vessels came solely to refuel, which highlights the market’s trust in our operation and the relevance of our offer.”
Manifold Times previously reported on the third joint bunkering operation between the companies at the Port of Salvador in Northeast Brazil where vessels can be bunkered with Acelen’s VLSFO and LSMGO at the inner anchorage and alongside the port, using barges rather than tankers.
Acelen and Bunker One also collaborate in Itaqui and the outer anchorage of Sepetiba in Rio de Janeiro.
da Costa added this achievement reflects the ongoing investments in modernising the Mataripe Refinery.
“Just this July, for example, we successfully refuelled a VLCC with a 21-meter draft in ‘Baia de Todos os Santos’, an operation that showcases our technical capability and reinforces the region’s logistical potential,” he said.
