Marine fuel supplier Verde Marine Energy on Tuesday (11 March) announced the commencement of its Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) supply operations.
This latest expansion will see Verde Marine begin VLSFO supplies using the bunker barge MTS Malia from 15 March in Rotterdam, with plans to expand its fleet to cover the entire Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp (ARA) region shortly thereafter.
The new VLSFO supply options will complement Verde Marine Energy’s existing distillate marine fuel (DMA) bunkering service.
Following a successful startup phase, Verde Marine has established itself as a supplier of marine distillate products in Rotterdam-Antwerp and the surrounding region.
Additionally, Verde Marine has recently started supplying marine Distillate volumes via truck deliveries in the ARA region.
“The ARA region has recently undergone a significant transformation due to mergers and acquisitions, with major global trading houses and larger players reshaping the market landscape with multiple physical and global trading entities,” the company said.
“However, there remains a strong demand for a trusted, independent VLSFO supplier that prioritizes independence, quality, and reliability.”
The company, backed by Dutch shipping company Vertom, started physical bunker supply operations of gasoil in the ARA region in May 2024.
