The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore on Tuesday (15 August) said there was ‘no debris or oil spill’ observed from an Indonesian-flagged vessel ATRIA II that was partially submerged and drifting south of Changi.

MPA said the Marine Safety Control Centre that it operates was notified at about 5.15pm on 13 August.

“Two MPA and two PCG vessels were immediately dispatched to render assistance. All 12 persons from the wooden vessel were safely transferred and sent ashore. No Singaporeans were onboard the vessel,” it said in a statement.

The partially-submerged vessel has been towed to safety while navigational traffic in the Traffic Separation Scheme in the Singapore Strait and port operations were not affected.
