China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) Co. Ltd (Chimbusco) on Friday (2 June) said its subsidiary China Marine Bunker (Lianyungang) Co., Ltd (Chimbusco Lianyungang) successfully completed its largest bunker delivery to date this year.
Bunker barge Tutai successfully refuelled oil and chemical tanker Fortune Violet with 3,365 metric tonnes (mt) of Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (LSFO) at 4am on 29 May.
China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) said Chimbusco Lianyungang was affected by its fuel supply capacity due to the absence of large barges to deliver bunker fuel to other vessels.
During the period of Fortune Violet berthed for bunkering, Port of Lianyungang initially experienced difficulties to do so due to continued heavy fog.
In order to ensure that the ship’s schedule would not be delayed, Chimbusco Lianyungang arranged for Tutai to be ready and on standby in advance. With the joint efforts of various parties, the bunker delivery was successfully completed within 34 hours.
