The following bunker report has been provided by freight market information provider Baltic Exchange for post on Singapore bunkering publication Manifold Times:
Commentary:
Very minor changes in bunker pricing across the four primary regions vs last week, as the overall energy & commodities sectors are adrift and leaning towards bearish territory. U.S. politics and debt limit negotiations are at the center of most economic radar screens today, along with a mixed general economic view as we approach mid-year. In refined products, there is an inventory overhang in most of the E.U., and stockpiles are building in the US as well. Fujairah has increasing oil stocks across the clean product sector, and while demand for bunker fuel in the mid-East is rising, availability remains solid. In the west, however, demand for bunker stems in Panama is on the wane, and marine fuel prices in the US Gulf are essentially flat vs last week.
