Vietnam: Coast Guard detains “HP 1484” domestic oil tanker
The Vietnam Coast Guard on Wednesday (13 March) said it detained domestic oil tanker HP 1484 while on patrol in the Dinh Vu sea area (Hai Phong city) on 12 March.
It found the ship, operated by Hoa An Joint Stock Company, carrying about 30,000 litres of diesel oil and 7,000 litres of waste oil.
The Captain could not produce documents proving the legality of the oil cargoes on board but said it was purchased from a foreign ship with an unknown number at the Dinh Vu port area.
As such, the coast guard made a record and issued a decision temporary seize the goods and vessel transporting it to the port area at May Chai ward for further investigations.
