Bunker sales at Singapore port sink further 6.5% in May on year


Bunker fuel sales at Singapore port fell 6.5%, or 277,000 metric tonnes (mt), on year in May, according to Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) data.

In total, 4.01 million metric tonnes (mt) (exact: 4,006,500 mt) of marine fuel were sold during May, compared to 4.28 million mt (exact: 4,283,500 mt) in May 2018.

Deliveries of 500 centistokes (cSt), 380 cSt and 180 cSt grade in May 2019 (versus on year), was respectively 759,100 mt (-24.8% from 1,009,600 mt), 2.80 million mt (-5.1% from 2.95 million mt), and 19,600 mt (-37.6% from 31,400 mt).

Low sulphur 500 cSt, 380 cSt and 180 cSt grades recorded sales of zero mt (0% change from zero mt), 19,700 mt (+688.0% from 2,500 mt), and 39,900 mt (+206.9% from 13,000 mt).

Low sulphur marine gas oil (LS MGO) sales were posted at 212,000 mt (+93.1% from 109,800 mt) and MGO at 75,900 mt (21.2% from 62,600 mt).


To date, the amount of bunkers sold at the port totalled 19.79 million mt from January to May 2019, 7.7% down compared to 21.43 million mt during the similar period last year.
